Tryouts

To become a member of Santos FC, we invite you to join us for tryouts. Tryouts dates are set by MOSSL and are typically after Memorial Day in late May and early June. The tryout schedule is now available. Always check our CALENDAR for specific dates and times. Age groups will tryout at the same time and it is important that you tryout with your age group. Two sessions are held and the player is asked to attend both. We are determining who will be invited to become a member.

Before tryouts you will need to fill out the following form and bring it with you: SANTOS PLAYER TRYOUT APPLICATION. Be sure to bring a ball and wear appropriate clothing.

Important Information for Tryouts

We ask you to refrain from offering instruction to your child during the tryouts. We want to make this a fun and positive experience for everyone. At the end of tryouts, one of the managing trainers will address parents and answer questions. Roster positions will be offered beginning at 2pm the Sunday after your tryouts and continue all day and into the evening. All teams have a limited number of roster positions available. We commit to contact each player family who tries out for a position on a Santos FC team. It is unfair to make some players wait while others delay in making a decision and commitment upon notification. We expect you to give us your commitment upon our phone call to you.

Information regarding cost is passed out at tryouts. It is also at the bottom of this page. A non-refundable $300 deposit is due at the parent meeting.

Parent meetings are scheduled shortly after players are extended offers for new players. For 2015, our meetings will be held on Saturday, June 20 at the Upper Arlington Municipal Services Center, 3600 Tremont Road, Columbus, OH 43221 in council chambers. For players coming back from last season, we will have you turn in your paperwork on that same date in the lower level of the UA Municipal Services Center. Always check the CALENDAR for particular dates and times. You will be able to order your UNIFORM at that time also. Always have your player try on the uniform before purchasing. No refunds or exchanges are offered as each order is special ordered.

If your child is not offered a position, it does not mean she/he is not a good player, it usually means that we have many good players from which to choose and a limited number of spaces on the team roster. Tryouts are sometimes stressful for everyone involved. Remember it is more important at this age that your child plays on a team where she/he receives good training and plenty of playing time. The best players at age 8 and 9 are sometimes not the best players at the age 14 and 15, since everyone develops at different rates.

Acceptance

UPON ACCEPTANCE to the club, you will complete the forms and turn them in on June 18th. It is important that all documents/pictures are turned in at this time. Please be prepared.

USYSA MEMBERSHIP FORM - three signatures required

MEDICAL RELEASE FORM - this form must be signed in the presence of a notary

PARENT CODE OF CONDUCT - signed by a parent

BIRTH CERTIFICATE (copy) or government issued document (passport). if you are new to Santos. If you are a returning player, last season's players card will suffice.

PICTURE - a 1" x 1" front facing color picture is necessary. It must be 1" x 1". If it is not the correct size, we will not be able to process your application.

DEPOSIT $300 - non-refundable. Once offered a place on a team, this deposit is to hold that place when you accept.

Fall and Spring Regular Seasons (2016 - 2017)

Base Fees*:

U8 Academy - $285 each for Fall and Spring + $250 facility fee that includes winter training

U9 - $500 each for Fall and Spring + $250 facility fee that includes winter training

U10 - $525 each for Fall and Spring + $250 facility fee that includes winter training

U11 - $575 each for Fall and Spring + $250 facility fee that includes winter training

U12 - $625 each for Fall and Spring + $250 facility fee that includes winter training

U13 - U14 - $675 each for Fall and Spring + $250 facility fee that includes winter training

U15 - U19 - $705 Spring season only + $250 facility fee that includes winter training

Additonal Fees:

In Town Tournaments: $55
Out of Town Tournaments: $85

Payment Schedule:

Fall Season

U8 Academy - $285 due to upon acceptance (goes toward Fall fees)

U9-U14 - $300 non-refundable deposit upon acceptance (goes toward Fall fees)

U9-U14 - Balance of Fall fees due by July 15, 2016

U9-U19 - $250 facility fee due by August 15, 2016

Spring Season

U8 Academy - $285 due January 15, 2017

U9 - U14 - $300 due January 15, 2017

U15 - U19 - $300 non-refundable deposit due November 15, 2016 (goes toward Spring fees)

All ages - Balance due by February 15, 2017

Balance due by February 15th all ages (U9 Through U19)

***Fees may be paid in advance, however, a $30 late fee will be assessed after August 15 for the Fall Season and after February 15th for the Spring Season.

If a Team plays in Two Leagues, then additional costs are added.

Tournament Fees:

In Town: $55
Out of Town: $85

Payments will be accepted by check, cash or money order.

* Please note that base fees do not include the following: uniform costs, tournament fees, transportation and hotel expenses and summer camp. If a team plays in two leagues, additional fees are added.
