Mission: To contribute to the development and advancement of youth and adult soccer in the State of Ohio and specifically the Greater Columbus community.
Goals:
- To establish an annual soccer tournament that promotes unity among people of African descent in Columbus, Ohio
- To establish and/or work with organization(s) designed to promote and enhance better relations among people of African descent globally.
- To provide scholarship opportunities for youth of African descent and other ethnic groups to further their education
- To assist in resolving social problems affecting people of African descent on the continent, within North and South America as well as, the Caribbean Islands
- To organize and sponsor a Under 23 men’s team to compete in the Professional Development League within the US
Tournament Objectives:
- To create a festive environment in order to foster better relations among people of African descent and extend that hospitality to the greater central Ohio community.
- To establish a youth organization that promotes athletic and academic achievement and advancement.
- To establish and solidify communicative links and relationships between the African community and the Columbus community in general-indeed the world community.
- To expose African culture to the broader Columbus community in order to assist in dispelling stereotypical notions about that community.
- To assist in reducing obesity and other health issues affecting youth and adults in Central Ohio
- To assist in the reduction and eventual elimination of violence and drug abuse in Central Ohio
